This Christian devotion is centred on the second coming of Jesus . The Lord bless you as you read.

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last (Revelation 22:12-13)

That Jesus is coming back again to me is incontrovertible, but the world today has lost that hope. Satan has even made some Christians to believe that Jesus is not coming back to anywhere and as result they can live their live the way they wanted as long as they proclaim to be a Christian.

However, it is certain that Jesus is coming back again whether we believe or not. He has promised and He is not going to deny His word. Looking at the scripture above (Revelation 22:12-13), we see Jesus promising his disciple, John ‘the beloved’ in a revelation that He is coming back again. This is a reassurance of what He has told them (his disciples) before He died.

Well, as a matter of fact, it’s not only Jesus that predicted his own second coming. Angels of God has talked about it. God himself has revealed it to some of his prophets like Daniel, Isaiah and others even before Jesus was born

Having a quick look at the scripture, the book of Acts reveals to us the event that took place on the day that Jesus ascended to the heaven.

“And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.
And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes,
and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:9-11 ESV)

His disciples were still busy gazing at this last miracle performed by Jesus in their presence, but the angel of the Lord was already telling them the most important message – the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. The angels assure was assuring them so that after seeing this last miracle, they will not come back and sorrow. Today, how many of us still have the hope of seeing Jesus one day? If you do, happy are you.
Apostle Paul was a persecutor of the early church (Acts 9:1-28) but the day he saw the wonders of Jesus, everything changed. He later became a very good instrument in the hand of the Lord. Though, he never met Jesus physically when he was on earth, but when he became His disciple after his ordeal on the way to Damascus, he quite understands that the Lord Jesus will surely come back to this earth one day.  Hear what he says to the church of Thessalonians

For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
Therefore encourage one another with these words.”
(1Thess.4:13-18 ESV)
“And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.” (Daniel 2:1-2 KJV)

Apart from this, God also reveal to Daniel the establishment of the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ that will take place after the great tribulation.

“ I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.” (Daniel 7:13-14 KJV)

Jesus himself also spoke about the establishment of His kingdom in several places in the gospels. So be prepared if you are following Him. If you are not, be sure of this: Jesus is coming very soon to establish his kingdom. He is coming to judge the world – to pay everyone according to the works of his hand. He is coming to take away his own. He is coming to put an end to sorrow. He is coming with great glory and power. The earth belongs to Him and not to Satan (Psalm 24:1), so He is coming to reign even on earth before the establishment of the new heavens and earth. He is coming very soon. Let all that read this take heed.

As for me, I have made up my mind that I want to be part of His everlasting kingdom. I don’t want to be condemned. If I die before he comes, I want to be where He is. I don’t want to go to hell; no! I can stand everlasting fire.

As you are reading this christian devotion, if you will like to be part of his kingdom, please give your life to Christ Jesus today. Let him write your name in the book of life. Don't let this message witness against you in the day of judgement.

Please bow down your head and pray:

Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying because of my sins. I have made up my mind to follow you, please forgive me of all my sins and accept me today. I have come to you today, please be my Lord and saviour. Please come into my life and save my soul. I will serve you and obey you, help me. Thank you, Jesus, for answering me. Thank you father in the name of Jesus (amen).
