Read: Psalm 119:1-6

Christian Devotions Memory Verse

“Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD” (Psalm 119:1 KJV)

One class of those people that God will bless is the undefiled. The undefiled represent the group of people who are without blemish or spot. Their ways of life are blameless and their walk with God is faultless. The heart of the undefiled does not conceive evil let alone do it. The Lord, our God is interested in these people and He’s determined to bless them because they delight in the law of the Lord and are determined to walk in it (Psalm 119:1).

Those who are defiled are not so; they are corrupt and ungodly; their mind conceive evil and execute it; they lie; they fornicate and commit adultery; they take and give bribe to pervert the cause of justice. God’s blessing is far from this group of people even though they seem to be prospering in this evil world. Their permanent place of abode in the last days is eternal fire where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. Instead of blessing, the portion of the defiled with the Lord is curse (Job 20:4-15).

Brethren, let’s do self examination today. Check to see which of these two groups you belong. If you have ever confessed the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, know that He’s fully ready to bless you. But if lies, fornication, envy, evil thought and all forms of unfaithfulness still dominate your life then you might be far from receiving the blessing of God. Remember what Jesus said about defilement:

“For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone." (Matthew 15:19-20)

The blessing of God is for those that are ready to walk in obedience to His commandment. God called Abraham and blessed him because he believed and obeyed (Isaiah 51:2). The same God is looking for whom to bless in these present days if only whoever he calls will obey and depart from all unrighteousness. There is no harm in obedience to the word of God; it is ignorance that makes people to disobey God. If God has said blessed are the undefiled, no one can change it. The word of God is true and forever settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89). All you need to do is to believe the word and appropriate them in your life through prayers.

Today’s Christian devotion encourages us to walk blameless and faultless before God so that we can receive the promise that belongs unto us by inheritance. It is my prayer that as you do so the blessings of Abraham will locate you this season in Jesus name.
